Throwback : Ikea complication

I posted many photos of furniture that I wanted to buy especially my wing chair dilemma. In the end, I decided to buy my wing chair. For those who intend to do serious shopping in Ikea, I highly recommend installing the Ikea app. It's shopping list function will be helpful.

The plan was to get Ikea to send my stuff and install some of it. Since I was one hand handicapped, it will be dependent on him to assemble most furniture so he gets to decide which furniture to outsource. No brainier, the tv console, bed, desk and dining table were outsourced.

Thank God for flat pack

It took one try to decide that I also have to hire concierge. The stuff are simply too heavy for both of us. Concierge is $40.00 and they will pick up your furniture list - which is great if you have tons of stuff. The total weight of my stuff is 360kg. $40.00 well spent.

I never expected any drama with delivery but guess what, there was drama with delivery, drama with installation, drama with the furniture, anything that can go wrong went wrong. Took 2 deliveries to get all furniture in because some items were sold off before concierge got to it. Then took another 2 visits and 47 phones calls to their Call Centre to get the assembly discount sorted. It was 15% flat rate so it's worth the hassle. Then during assembly, the Tradie found several panels of furniture scratched and dented. I had to call for a replacement for them. Although they are quick to replace them the next day, it meant I had to arrange assembly on another day. Thank God the company allowed me to work from home.

to be continued.....
